Ok I will admit I had Samurai convert my RRC to the 6.2 V8 Diesel engine.

Conversion was a total joke. Badly engineered and badly fitted.

The engine developed a fault within 20 minutes of collecting and I returned it forthwith. Thankfully when I collect the RRC a couple of weeks later they had a communication breakdown and I drove away without paying Whistle

This gave me change to check out the poor quality work. As a result we 'agreed' a suitable final price to avoid me taking legal action against them.

The conversion plate need £300 of machining work to get it fit properly, the engine mounts had to be remade and a new air intake made.

High ratio diffs strengthen diffs from KAM were fitted along with an Ashcroft torque converter to match the lower rpm of the engine to the 3 speed automatic gearbox.

Results: extremely loud! On the motorway you had to wear ear plugs. Plus not quietly going past people's houses alongside 'green lanes', even on tick over they knew you were coming Laughing

Power: not much improvement in road speed, in fact no faster than a Tdi 90.
Torque: who needs low range! The torque was massive, in fact much so it spat the KAM diffs out Crying or Very sad

Overall not a great engine for a RRC (best kept in a Hummer) and I wished I had stuck to the Rover V8. Fixing Land Rovers for over 25 years..........and making excuses to the wife for almost as long Smile
