One of the options I was considering was a hinged door with a "for what it's worth" lock.
Hinges to match the door ones were a thought, but internal piano hinge bonded to the door would make it all flush which I think would look better and easier to fabricate diy.
Unless there are small scale Defender hinges out there somewhere?
Think I'll get some alu sheets for the CNC and start playing about in the coming weeks.

Why do some women spend £5K on a handbag, its because they can regardless of its true value

I think its the same with cars

At birth everybody should be issued with a T shirt that gets updated every year with their payslip
Mandatory to wear and save all the willy waving competitions

Stacey

Not in anyway, you asked why anyone would buy the Overfinch or Land Rover one when the Optimill is so good
I was asking why people spend £5K on handbags when there are perfectly good alternatives but much cheaper

I can justify £65 but Overfinch at £900 is look at me territory

I quite like the Optimill and I'm probably getting one, OEM is £15 so its not that much dearer, kidding myself here

Thumbs Up

Understood.... Smile

Your right I was told on OEM plastic one with tether is around £25, this one does feel and look really nice. Like you I cannot see how the others brands can charge £600 plus , its machined the same way surely?

Branding I guess...

Absolutely 10/10 for Overfinch if they can get that for a fuel cap.

Twisted just launched one too at around £400 if my memory serves me correctly.

^^^ but the shiney ones have dilithium hydrocarbon valves and are IP69000000 rated and 'e' marked so safe on European roads ... I can't wait for the "tyre dust valves" thread next week Laughing
