The usual tone. Thud

One comment, the very first decision to install a Startech steering wheel was the choice of JLR themselves, not from any private owner at this forum or elsewhere. No, Solihull themselves approved it. How? Well, the very first Startech steering wheels were used by JLR for the "Black Pearl" limited editions for Germany and for Switzerland. JLR chose to install this great wheel again a few years later in the German "Blaser" and the Swiss "Hunter" limited editions. You can call this genuine manufacturer's equipment.
All of us here and elsewhere who opted to buy a Startech steering wheel just catched on to the manufacturer's initial decision for what is one of the best possible upgrades, both as to comfort and as to looks. I was one of the first here who did, I actually had to find out for myself about this steering wheel, because JLR were not freely providing information of the source of their upgraded equipments.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.

Done the rounds looking at this as I want to have a little more elbow room and could do with the wheel a tad closer and higher.
Startech the best I came across by far and away. IMHO it looks more OE than the actual real one. Certainly nothing "halfrauds" about it!

Bit on the pricey side though. Still thinking about it at moment.

About time for picture (again) of the Startech...

As has been said Land Rover did approve but didn't follow through with this wheel
as they should have, making this standard equipment on the Defender...instead
they fitted a wheel that looks to have enough space for an air bag...that is missing Exclamation

Each to their own, but whilst this is an expensive wheel... it is all too easy to end up
with a smaller replacement that looks like its been stolen from the parts bin on latest
set of Fast & Furious, I haven't seen a better wheel yet than the Startech

Halfords...I don't think so... Exclamation

That looks great... Questions, is it just the light or is your dash painted?

Also what gear levers are those? Adventure?

The reason I changed mine was the fact that I was fed up of banging my right elbow against the window and door card.
Now its pain free and comfortable driving and nothing to do with to much money. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place,
so it doesn't take much to Censored us off.

Hated the 'Bulge' thing on the standard wheel as it seemed to keep hitting the underside of my forearm. Plus the startech one just looks fantastic.

TBH I'd prefer the Startech if it was the same diameter as the original, Biggest PITA is the Boss sizes, couldn't find a really slim one that is a direct fit as they all seem to be Momo pattern holes So drilled and tapped a lovely 32mm deep Black Optimill one. 3 Landrovers

Startech are extracting the urine at nearly Ģ500 for a steering wheel with no airbag or multi function. To me it looks a lot like a pretty basic unit and overpriced. As for not being able to afford it you are way off there. I light my Havanas with Ģ50 notes. I bet LR were getting them for under Ģ50.

RED-DOT you have had enough warnings in private about being polite to people on here, so now it is in public.

If you want to be rude go elsewhere, I gather Facebook don't care as long as they can mine your data and flog it to advertisers.

This is the last time I will give you the opportunity to sort yourself out.

I wouldn't personally fit a Startech or similar, but I don't insult and attack those who do. If you want to and have the money to, why not?

I don't see anyone attacking you for having an L200 pickup.

There is a code of conduct here which you seem determined to ignore. You abide by it or I will close your account for good.  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

If you want your Defender to look a bit Halfords, good for you and I applaud your individuality
I would love a Bowler 110 XS Utility but I haven't got the money

Back to the OP, the Startech is a great wheel and well worth the money
I have one and its the best Mod on the Landy apart from the bulkhead removal from Mud UK

FWIW I'm 6' 3" and have standard steering wheels and no seat risers in either 90. But having literally grown up in a Defender I'm moulded to shape Wink

The wheel with the centre pad originates with the NAS Defenders and approval for sale in the US, not any kind of failed airbag fitment by LR as is often claimed. I like it Smile  1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top
