Thanks folks for all the replies.

After much deliberation, I've bought a 1.4m hannibal rear awning and sides. This was due to the fact, I'm not always on grass when wanting to use an awning so pegs and guy ropes could be an issue and I want to use it as a changing room at times too, so quick and easy is key. With Nene offering 40% off was a key element too....

I hope I've done the right thing.....I think its horses for courses as I can see the Foxwing being a great bit of kit, if you are on grass or soft ground and if the camp sites allow you to park your Landy next to the tent

Cheers

Hi Richard.

Quick question regarding your Hannibal awning.... Does it bolt directly to the rear of your rack, or do you need awning extension bars as well?

I have the same rack (curved rear corners) but the only pictures I can find are of the awning fitted to the older style Hannibal rack with a straight rear section.

Also, does the side kit contain all three sides to completely enclose the back?

I'm also tempted by the Nene January discount Very Happy Just wondering what I need to actually buy. Have posed the same question to Nene but, strangely, there is only one man who can answer that question and he's not there at the moment Rolling Eyes

Hi Tony

Yes the brackets for the rear awning bolts directly onto the roof rack. The brackets are on the curved corners. I'll take some pictures tonight and post them.

The sides cover all 3 sides and there is a zip door on the back side..not the sides of the awning... I'm not sure if that makes sense. Its hooks that keep the sides up...so quick to erect.

I'll have to use bungee cords to keep the awning sides hard up against the sides of my Landy in a windy day, but maybe there is loops for ground stakes..I'm not sure.

I've only quickly stuck it up in the dark, I'm sure with a little practice it will be super fast. It seems to give good cover.

I hope this helps. Any further questions give me a shout, but I'll stuck up some photos tonight .

Cheers

Richard

Hi

A quick picture would be spot on, thanks. Just making sure I know what I need to purchase for the awning to fit.

Very Happy

Hi Tony

Here are the photos. Hopefully you can see from the photos there is nothing else to buy. The awning comes with the brackets and screws direct onto the roof rack. Sorry I did not take any photos with it out and the sides on but its cold and wet!

cheers

They're perfect - thanks very much for braving the cold and wet Smile

It was just the fitting to the back of the rack I wanted to see.
