Still don't know why LR never produced a DCPU based on the D3/4 frame & running gear, it would have dealt with all the issues over safety levelled as the reason for the demise of the Defender that we know & would have had the benefit of a considerable number of common parts from an established model - manual gearboxes & coil springs were used in D3 for those not wanting too much 'tec' in a working vehicle, etc. Could easily have been developed prior to ending the Defender production run in terms of timing & stolen a lead in a growing market place.

Way back, I thought the Disco 1 would have made a good cab for a pick up, after it finished production. As it turned out LR even made the prototype Juno military pick up.
Sadly it didn't happen. The discovery got pushed further up market and a pick up did not fit in with the image LR was selling to Cowes Yacht Week people at the time. It still doesn't.
