Can you turn off Traction Control on a Puma?
Just wondering if you can turn off the TC on a Puma Defender?

Sometimes I'd rather let the wheels spin!

searching the forum Ive borrrowed this from this thread - http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic1753.h...ntrol+turn

The fuses for TC/ABS are under the drivers seat they can be pulled and the vehicle will drive fine. We had to do this in Morocco when the front axle exploded on the Utility.

On my 2.2 I have a switch although it dose mean I have to look at a stupid amber warning light all the time Rolling Eyes

Barbel jim. I'm confused, you say you have a switch on your 2.2 puma for switching off TC and then puts an amber light on your dash. My understanding was that the switch was for DSC and not TC. On a Land Rover Experience course last year the instructor informed me that you could not disable TC on a Defender, you could only disable DSC. Defender 90XS SW

Not sure if it turns it off totally, but it becomes very driveable, especially in the wet. I havn't noticed it cutting in, or felt any hesitations as it sorts itself out.
A bit more interesting reading -

My handbook says the amber light will illuminate and deactivating DSC also reduces the level of ETC intervention (as I now see posted in the previous link Wink ) Rob

Sorry, just to confirm.

Pumping the brakes 10 times within ten seconds before starting, will disable the TC.

Does this apply to 07MY trucks, with TC and ABS fitted?

Cheers

Thanks guys. Tried pumping the brak pedal 10 times with ignition on but not started. TC light came on. Then started and it stayed on. Afterward I just switched off and restarted and the light went out. So now I know!

Thanks for your help!
