Sealant between under-dash AC and pipes in engine bay?
I am refitting the Td5 under-dash AC unit after doing some repairs to my footwells and outriggers, and I am at the point of connecting the pipes that go through the bulkhead. They connect to the ones in the engine bay with 2 bolts, and I don't recall seeing any sealant when I removed the unit. Should I just bolt the cylinder shaped flanges together dry? Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000

Yeah, I would expect so too, but there seems to be no such thing and my AC was working fine before I removed the under-dash facia and evaporator??? Defender 130 HCPU Td5 MY2000

Ok, just to be complete: I found out there is an O-ring on the pipes that connect from the engine bay, see attached (crappy) picture.

Replace the Oring for a new one with drop of PAG oil (oil for AC internals). Without this you are in risk of leak. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "BlufĂnek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo Smile
