Canvas or metal?
My S3 has a hole in its truck cab roof. I am considering a canvas cab, full tilt, or repairing the hole (where a previous owner had a beacon fitted).

At present I use an Ifor Williams canopy, but also have a mint 3/4 ET hood (with second hand sticks).

Not sure which path to take. Weatherproofing is topmost, with heat retention. Any advice welcome. Land Rover Defenders. 67 years heritage, minimal appearance changes, still going strong all over the world. Not a fashion vehicle, but fashionable to own. Made for the needy, not the greedy. Ta ta Defender

Fix the hole! - rag tops are great for the summer but having had a S2 SWB many years ago I can tell you it was neither weather proof (sic) or warm!!

Canvas for me everytime!

Better than the noisy tin box dripping condensation all over you.
Just treat a hood annually with Fabsil or similar, it will always be watertight.

Less noisy, more cosy... Thumbs Up 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Having had a truck cab, hard top and a soft top (full tilt) I would have the soft top any day .

Hi canvas tilt all day long, hardtop constant drumming and condensation dripping on you constantly gets very tedious, our last series 2a which we did around 10k miles a year in had a full tilt on for 7 plus years and with a fume curtain fitted over winter even got warm with the smiths heater Thumbs Up Paul Tash n Barney
