Considering buying HT90 td5 advice needed please
Hi all I have been to have a look at a ht90 today which has a fuel problem.Please bear with me as not very mechanically minded .
Told that when diesel tank is above halve full there is never a problem starting,below halve can be a problem and sometimes not start at all. When it does start in the morning no problems exist for the rest of the day regardless of fuel level.
When we started it today for the first time (engine not warm , so the truth ) there was not a problem while showing third of a tank . When the key was turned to aux without cranking i could hear a lot gurgling from the pump in the tank. New injector seals and harness fitted.
Apart from this it seems fairly rust free ,175000 miles , Seems a genuine guy only went in to buy a xmas tree and asked if it was for sale . He wants £5500 as it is ?
Any advice on what the problem may be ? Worth buying ?

Sounds like the fuel pump has had it.

Tank has to be dropped to change it. Only use a genuine replacement, £250+ for the pump alone.

Other thing it may be is the fuel filter head has become porous and letting air in.

You don't say what year it is but the price sounds about right.

If the rest of it is OK that price is not bad. I would haggle though as dropping the tank on a TD5 90 can be a real pain and you may want to pay somebody to do the job for you.
