No plans for any shows yet. Planning a Defender2 meet at my place some point in the next few months.

Let me know if you are going to any and I'll try and get to one. Problem is that I'm at my busiest during show season. September is usually good for me, usually can make peterborough Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Will bump into you at Peterborough then Grafty, all being well!

Turbo setup is in bits at the minute, we're making a vid of putting it back together this weekend Cool

Have decided to port the turbo's exhaust housing so it matches the disco manifold better this time round (less lag hopefully)

Also wrapped the downpipe before it melts through the starter cable completely Very Happy

What are the bets on it staying together at 30psi? Thumbs Up

Boost, I've just read this thread from start to finish.
Have you had your vehicle on the rollers yet, and if you have I was wondering what power & torque readings were shown at what RPM?
Pickles.

Hi mate, thanks for looking.

Hoping to find a local dyno and get that info for you sometime soon. I've gone from a cruddy (worn) standard turbo to this one which is larger, but with a 360° thrust bearing and a more modern design, lag is there but it hauls now and egts have dropped significantly perhaps due to the 3" downpipe and exhaust. The fuel pumps maxed out I think, I'd be happy with 150hp maybe, being optimistic.

No worries, you're obviously not frightened to try/make your own way etc, so respect to you.
I'd be interested in the figures when they happen.
Well done, Pickles.

Thanks for the kind words chaps, really appreciated and I'll let Rich (Cave Bear Films) know people on here like the vids!

We're looking to get a comprehensive dyno video sorted however there's a suspiciously low amount of modified 200tdi's on YouTube. Let's just hope it's coincidence and not because they've all blown up Shocked Thumbs Up

Thanks for watching from Oz Pickles, don't have a spare Isuzu 4BD1 lying about do you? Laughing

Naahh, Haven't got one of them!!, don't know much about them either, but would I be correct in saying there is a turbo version, which is the one to have? Looking forward to further vids.

Great video Boost. I enjoyed watching it over a coffee after recovering from a heavy bank holiday session Cool .

Looks like the build is really coming along and glad to see you've sorted the oil leak issues!

At what RPM is the turbo currently making 30psi? Would be impressive at around the 2.5k mark Thumbs Up .

Pickles - Yes the turbo version of course! Although any of the Chevy LS motors will do if you're offering! Wink

Matt - Well it'd be rude not to make use of the bank holiday!! We've managed to get 25psi at the intake manifold and that's before opening up the exhaust housing. I'm starting to get nervous about pushing for more, those ARP studs feel like they'd be a reassurance if I had some now! We've just put the turbo/exhaust manifold back onto the head today and it's very tight now. I feel like we're pushing the fuel pump at its limit too now, perhaps larger nozzles would be an alternative to 'hurting' the pump by having it wound up too high?

New vid coming end of the week, and obviously we're a couple of amateurs and don't claim to be doing the 'right' thing or the best way to go about doing it, it's just a bit of a laugh really Whistle

Thumbs Up

Boost, I have to get you "educated" mate.
With your "can do" attitude, a V8 instal is definitely the way to go,..a Yankee V8 Petrol?!

Yeah fair enough, looking at an Oldsmobile diesel V8 at the moment on the opposite end of the scale. Realistically I'd like to keep it diesel, maybe a Merc OM606 but I'd love a big diesel V8 with a MASSIVE turbo bolted on the front. GM 6.5's seem to be expensive and now everyones jumped on the Cummins train so that's no fun. Rover V8's are outdated, slow and thirsty IMO.

*Shots fired*

Whistle Thumbs Up
