Also this week i have been watching the fuel gauge, since i binned off the EGR stuff. I tell you what the MPG is a hell of a lot better! i was using nearly a quarter a tank, now its used lot less than that now! I think if i got the decent tyres on and a service i think it will be better. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Good news! As with a lot of emissions reducing technology - reduced emissions = increased fuel consumption Rolling Eyes 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

I am in the process of doing the search, comes up with two, the Land Reiziger loom seems to be plug in play, how true is this?

Hi..I've just fitted the Land Reiziger loom and it was very simple and has made a difference to my standard lights, much brighter. I also replaced the headlight stalk/switch as mine was worn and temperamental.. I ordered the switch with the loom but unfortunately it was the wrong one, it had a square plug for newer model LR's so I bought a genuine Lucas instead. The loom is nicely made and a good fit. I connected mine to the alternator rather than extend the wires and go to the battery as some have done.

can you get me a photo of the loom installed and PM me the details on where you got the loom from?
My dads not to keen on the idea, but then again he doesn't read the forums.

I bought it direct from their website using the link posted on a thread on here.

Use google translate or similar Wink

I'm working this weekend but will try get some pics in the week.
For less money you could make your own as others on here have done.. but that would be a bit beyond me .

cheers Profyaffle, I will be adding this one to the many ideas I have for this.
My dad is itching to strip the suspension off it and replace the new hardware, He has to learn to cool it a little! I don't think he even has put replacement bits on his yet that he got me to order off! Rolling Eyes Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

I had a look at the arse end today while I was giving the 306 a quick check up on oil and water, looks like its going to need rear stickers, they have been removed not painted over. which I thought they had. So looking on EBay for a nice set, I might buy new graphics for the doors too. Get the full lot done while I am there. But we need the weather sadly. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

well today we made a start with the overhaul of the suspension, I managed to get my galvanised parts painted at work.

So we made a start on the passenger side 1st, What a nightmare we had trying to remove the damper from the chassis, The bush shelve had to be chiselled off! took an hour to do! Shocked The other side we had to cut off the bottom, it was well seized.
But the rest was of it was plain sailing,

All installed with poly bushes

Also I had this problem, with the rear arch. One problem it had when I bought it, The little plastic fasteners had come off.

so while the wheel was off, we managed to get the replacement fasteners in place

looks worlds better now.

The rear end suspension was really in a bad way, one damper had totally failed, the other was very, very soft. I could feel every bump in the road, now the backend feels a lot smoother and tighter.
Got the front end to do tomorrow, so we will see what fun we there. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

yeah we are really moving on forwards, I hope the weather is ok tomorrow, me and my dad were doing the suspension when it was light rain, then it came in damp. Now its proper giving it some now. So god knows what the weather is going to be like tomorrow.
But again it will show me how well the new seals are faring up. too Looks like the passenger one may need looking at again.
I am hoping to start looking at putting interior into it at some point. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

well part 2 was completed today, We did have to run the drill through the holes on the turrets that was it.

so I have gone from this

to this

Then went out for a test drive, and I tell you what, its a different car! more stable and it rides the bumps better.
I think I will buy the front ARB and front steering damper, just to tie that off nicely, Then I think I will move onto brakes and tyres by the looks of things, The rear door side of things is going to be a little more in depth, Looks like it needs a repair to the door skin. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

One of the lads at work is a paint tech, he took the time to paint them. I am hoping to start painting the chassis at some point too. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back

Profyaffle, how does it drive with the front ARB on? I am toying with the idea of fitting a rear one to at some point. Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back
