We don't normily set our tree up until after the daughters birthday on the 6th December( 21 this year).
Now she is no longer at home I thought I'd have a look out the back and see if I could find a small one.
Not going all out this year as there are no kids at home on Christmas Day this year as we are traveling to them and the grandchildren.

I found a few Christmas trees from the last few years.
Now to decide which one to use...

I collected our tree yesterday from a customer's garden. It was due to come down in the summer, but I said that it would make a nice christmas tree and they agreed to keep it up until December for me!

It was bigger than I thought, it stuck out the back of the truck by quite some distance and I had to chop a few feet off the bottom to get it to fit in the lounge.

One thing though, no matter how hard I shook it to remove the loose needles etc before it came in, it failed to dislodge the many, many families of spiders that are now living rent free on the ceiling.

Currently rebuilding my stretched 110 (now 122) to personal spec, probably going to be a double cab dropside, but not fully decided yet. So I've started at the front end first!

For us Christmas is an occasion which starts when the tree goes up on December 24th and lasts twelve days from the 25th.

I abhor the ever increasing length of the commercialised run up to the 25th and attempts by huge corporations to make people part with their cash. I especially dislike the one with a semi truck accompanied by a bland jingle informing us that holidays are comin' holidays are comin' holidays are comin'

Different countries, different habits. As said, here it is in full swing by the first weekend of December, before our Fête de l'Escalade of next saturday, but right after Xmas, say by the 27th the streets are full of old Xmas trees and will be collected for biomass recycling.
Eric You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation.
