Got the rev counter fitted this afternoon. Looks lovely Cool
I wanted the temperature gauge to stay where it was and move the fuel gauge to where the clock was.

Most of the online guides just move the temperature and fuel gauge one place to the right but I felt that engine temperature was more important than fuel level and needed to be more directly in line of sight. This required a couple of wires to be extended but easy nonetheless.

So here it is. I also changed the lamp to led to go with the rest of the gauges

Also as promised better photos of the stalks, please excuse the dirty floor mats - it is winter Embarassed

And finally whilst I was there I wired in the cruise control light that I did, I re made the warning light panel to include front fog and cruise warning lights. Just need to change the colour of the leds to green.

funny enough i was only thinking yesterday about the old switches in the meastro/montego range and whether they would fit! they are the same as the RR ones shown. V8 90...WIP

Bow down

Yes Paulv8 the stalks fit quite well and are much nicer to use than the originals.

With a small bit of fabrication they fit nicely Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Some really nice subtle mods there Grafty, and stuff I have never seen before. Great work. Those LED clock backlights look very bright! How are they at night time? 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

Thanks green machine Bow down

My mum borrowed it the other evening and she said it was like piloting the starship enterprise! I hope she was referring to the dash and not the speed Shocked

They are quite bright but I quite like that, they are much crisper looking than with the incandescent lamps in. A dimmer is on the cards, not because they are too bright but because it's one step closer to range rover spec Laughing 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Well I've just arrived in lovely Aviemore, Scotland for a weeks holiday.

Set off from Devon at 6pm and arrived in Aviemore at 7am the next day. One fuel stop, 600 miles and 4 motorway closures later!

Had the cruise control set to 60mph the whole way (apart from the diversions and roadworks) and averaged 28 mpg.
That's with a fully loaded 750kg trailer and 3 up with luggage.

Hopefully I'll be updating the thread with pictures of the week if I remember Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Yours has to be one of my favourite td5 90's!
What tyres are you running and what lowering suspension kit?

Thank you Defendermatt!
Tyres are Hankook Ventus 285/60R18 and the suspension is -2 inch progressive springs from IRB developments and Bilstien B6 dampers all round Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Cheers. I have just got some bfg ko2 265/65r18 so I will see how I get on with them. But I may be after some more road biased tyres.
How do you find the ride of the suspension. Might have to get in touch with Ian for a progressive kit Thumbs Up

The ride is excellent for a 90. It is almost car like, still firm but not crashy and harsh like standard.
The first portion of travel is softer than standard which makes it smoother over small imperfections in the road.
When you start pushing on in the bends it starts to work the firmer part of the spring which helps keep it feeling nicely planted - also good for load lugging and towing as it stays more level by still having the firmer part of the spring.
The axles are very well controlled in high frequency bumps and there is no secondary rebound that I've felt since they've been fitted.
On my standard setup after a long spirited drive over the moors the standard dampers would get too hot and be almost useless. On the same drive now they hold up fine and are just as good as when they're cold.

Hope that helps Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Thanks for the response. I was going to go with alive springs but yours sits so nice. It's also hard to find someone who has tried multiple setups to get a view of different companies. I suppose whatever I go for in the end will be better than standard.
