Exhaust - flex or no flex?
Hello folks,

I'm looking to replace this section of the exhaust as it's developed a hole in the braided bit.

From browsing online I have discovered there are the options of short flexy or non-flexy.

Does having the flexible section actually give any noticeable advantage? Supposedly it reduces noise but I'm not sure what level of reduction is to be expected. If it's only a slight difference I might as well go with the solid option as it's the flexible section which has failed. If it's noticeable then I'll go for the flexy one. Although all the flexible pipes I've seen have quite a short section, whereas the one I've got on now is much longer.

Anyone got experience/advice on this?

Thanks guys. A unanimous vote for solid so that's what I've gone for.
I've been putting off doing any work on it in the cold/wet, but the MOT is coming up now so I best get on with it.

Aye, good shout. Might as well get it done while I'm under there.
