Relay location and ID on a TD5
Hi,

Trying to resolve an intermittent engine cut out issue.

No oil on loom, so I wanted to check the fuel pump relay next but I can't seem to find any diagrams on relay location for pre-2002 TD5s. I understand that on 2002 on TD5s, this is a yellow relay under the drivers seat but there doesn't seem to be much about the pre-2002s and one reference points to a green relay in front of the gearstick.

Does anyone have a relay diagram for a pre2002 TD5? I tried microcat and TOPIX but neither has clear diagrams on where they are...

Help would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Finally looked at it last night, it seems mine's slightly different for some reason, there wasn't a green relay in the central box. I did however have a yellow under the driver's seat which I tested to be the fuel pump relay so perhaps there were more than one configurations...

It seems a little loose but not too loose, I still cleaned the contacts and tightened the connectors a bit to see if it helps, so fingers crossed. I have a nanocom coming this week, so hopefully be able to get some fault codes and narrow down the search..

I also wanted to find the "main relay", would I be right to say that if I pull that out, the dash warning lights would not light up at all if I switch the ignition on due to the ECM not getting any power at all?
