Is that the Britpart bonnet kit?

Yes it is,

Cheers guys, The trans tunnel will be something like that with a curved "roof" i think. Got to have the box for the isolater and incorporate some sunglass and phone storage, ill probably make some wee boxs or steal them from antoher car.

How do you embed videos on this board btw?

Cheers,
Ged

How does the Td5 engine & R380 box compare in dimensions and weight to the Cummins and ZF box? 1999 Defender TD5 110

I sleep a little. just have to keep making a list and stroking it out. Then make a new one. one step at a time. Typical Armagh man just bull on lol.

Whole package is around 200kg heavier than the td5. But the Cummins makes 450nm of torque... at idle lol more than the td5 at full chat. So its defiantly more gutsy than the td5 but does lack the revs so 1.1003 tbox helps along with a 3k+governor spring.

Had a big push there over the weekend and ill break it into 2 parts, first the front end, now together will light guards and air con grille fitted.

@mcma1 kindly donated some light guards which needed a wee touch up and paint before going onto the 130, really like the look of them.

Put some foam on the back to stop them scratching and rattling on the wings

I had to make a plate at the top to make the aircon grille fit a non aircon wagon. rivenutted the original then added the bracket and drilled

then 2 lower brackets out of some angle and rivenuts in the wings

Then drill and rivenut the lightguards onto the wings

Threw the grille on just for now ill have to get something sorted as it badly cracked, might make something.

Couldnt have turned out better in my opinion, got some tired bits to replace like the grille but im loving the clean but slightly modded look thats actually hiding a monster vision ive had is coming together.

Been working away on the trans tunnel. I found an old tunnel in the shed, sliced it in half and added around 100mm in the middle with some aluminium angle keeping the OEM look.

I took the standard closure plate for the bulkhead and gave it a similar treatment.

Then fabricating a cover plate for the large hole out of some aluminum plate.

Get the hole cut and seal and rivet it up job should be a good one.

Its getting there. bit of finishing work to do with the isolater switch box and lever hole but should work nicely.

It will be a universal gaiter of some sort. as im controlling difflock and hi/lo with air cylinders

Hehe cheers lads,

Yea the test machine works, its a friend of mines handy for proving out designs etc. Im an engineer by trade so theres always something cooking about the place. Most people comment on the gardner generator setup.

Heres a wee video for you all i took when i took the previous pics.

Going to have to make an intake for the compressor next queiten down the put put put
