Relay Identification in Defender TD5 Battery Box
Back again with another question, I'm wanting to fit a second auxiliary battery in the not so distant future and I'm researching different layouts and looking at my own.

However I seem to have 3 relays in there and from what I've read the big yellow one is for towing electrics? The other two I'm not too sure of.

Haven't had the chance to trace the wires myself, but I'm guessing someone on here might already know.

I believe all three are for the towing electrics.

The yellow Voltage Sensitive Relay energises when the alternator is working and is used as a trigger to the other two relays that feed the towing socket (either a 12S or a 13 pin). One relay is for the fridge feed and the other for the caravan battery charge feed. Dave

Cheers nosnibod, that makes sense now. You saved me the time having to trace the wires!

Its a bit of a messy install, the wires from those relays seem to go everywhere, which leads me to my next question.

Is there any harm permanently disconnecting the battery? I wouldnt mind taking the battery out to see what space i'm working with, and to tidy the wires up. But i'm not sure if this will cause issues with ECU/immobiliser?
