Anyone got a clue what this mess might be the remnants of?

Thats a 30 amp fuse out of that relay thingy - I think it goes on down to the starter motor, you can sort of see it disappearing down.

The truck has had the EGR gubbins removed - I think normally EGR / ILT modulators are fixed to the wing this side. IS this likely the remnants? Theres quite a few loose wire ends kicking about.

Best just to stick connector blocks on the end s of the loose ones and cable tie it up tidily?

Handily, after taking this photo I dropped my phone down into the inner wing - which I though was going to be inaccessible. After a great deal of cursing and visions of removing the wing in the dark to get the thing out, I found out that by removing the 2.5kg of packed mud and dirt from the gap at the bottom and on from on top of the chassis member, my phone then fell out nicely into my hand. Note to self: Pay more attention to mud traps. Disco 300TDi XS - Gone

I have a similar set up which is an electrical supply for the valve block on my hydraulic winch.
It definitely looks like a secondary electrical supply of some sort. Defender Td5 Commercial 2002

Yup looks like a typical extra lights wiring set up to me... fuse, relay, wires to nowhere? Does it go a switch on the dash under the clocks? 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)

Spots are a pretty good shout. When I bought it, I recall it had a disconnected work light on the side of the rack but no switches in the dash.

Seems like a bloody mess for a spot light or 2 though. Disco 300TDi XS - Gone
