More power
Hi, our 300tdi is pretty stock and I feel it lacks a bit of poke when accelerating. Are there any simple mods I can do to release some extra power from the beast?

Thanks. 300tdi 90 1996.

If it hasn't been done in a while (or at all) then clean out the intercooler with paraffin. Oily gunk builds up inside over time and reduces its' effectiveness. I remember doing this to my 300tdi Discovery some years ago and it transformed it.

just make sure it's completely dry before re-installing. ISTR I used my wifes' hairdrier... Whistle Darren

Cheers LandroverAnorak. I don't think it's been done before. Someone suggested a Terraclean to me last night, would this pick up the intercooler?
What is people's experience of terraclean on a 300tdi? 300tdi 90 1996.

You could try a Boost pin to replace the current one but only if it has not been tuned before (forget the actual name of the product but discussed on here before). Paddocks sell them and they have video instructions on how to fit. Jeff

+1, this guide worked well for me also. Worth doing the intercooler and pipework flush at the same time.

Would using the LR tools to set the pump timing by the book be the first step? I ask as my 300TDi has probably been monkey'ed with before, and I have no way of knowing baseline. 2013 110 - Keswick Green
