I seem to recall that this "feature" was discussed at length when the 2.2 first came out, and that the general conclusion was that a remap was the solution. I didn't pay too much attention at the time (since Ihave a 2.4 not a 2.2), but it might be worth a search through some old posts and threads.

So as part of the service I asked the dealers to look into the issue. Try as I might I can't get the issue to replicate, so couldnt demonstrate the issue.

It's been dropped back and they said its had a software/service pack update for the EMS. Not had chance to drive it yet, but maybe they've cracked the issue. 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone

They'll give me the usual follow up courtesy call tomorrow so I'll ask for some more details, but I think he just called it a service pack update 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone

Ok, spoke to the dealer today and he said it was just the latest service pack update to the power control module.

He went on to explain, that as a dealer they don't/can't just plug in and it automatically updates everything, but that they will only look for an update if the customer reports a fault.

So does it drive any better? Still early to say and whilst I've not noticed the flat spot, the power delivery seemed very snappish at 1500rpm in 3rd this evening in traffic 2007 - Stornoway Grey 90 XS SW - Gone
