Elictric window switch
Hi All.

TD5/06. Her Ladyship who is disabled has asked if I can fix the electric window on her side, to operate without the ignition on. Her other request was to fit a horn with a switch for panic use, that seems to not be a problem , horn, relay, switch, from halfrauds.

So can any one advise re the window switch, will it affect the central locking ??.

Her Ladyship is a Tetraplegic , with the disabled stickers on the truck she admitted she feels vulnerable when left on her own.

You sound quite competent regarding the wiring and I wouldn't worry about the central locking. As far as I am aware the two aren't linked.
It would be unlocked anyway wouldn't it, I'm just assuming she would want to use it unlocked but ignition off?

If so I can see any issues at all.

Do you have heated seats? If not remove the 'ignition relay' from the fuse box in front of the gear lever and put a wire link between the two switched terminals (use wiring capable of 20A+). This will make the window circuit live permanently and is easily removed.

Rally Steve- yes we have heated seats, and thanks for the suggestion re wiring

Dorset- Thanks for the wiring diagram

Just completed a mod for her. Her own heater controls ,2 speed switch and a bowden cable (bonnet pull thingy) mod ,( to work the heater flap) attached to the front of the cubby box . I am allowed the choice of screen or floor airflow.
