Wanted: Ride on lawnmower
I am looking for a ride on lawnmower, the type that look like a mini tractor (as opposed to the ones that look like a mobility scooter!)

I have a budget of £800 (ish), but could spend more, depending on model/condition.

Collection is no issue as I have an Ifor trailer.

I have just sold a westwood T1600 and bought a Hayter heritage.

The westwood was 22 years old and has spent its entire life outside. My neighbour owned it from new and about 6 years ago it wouldn't start in the spring so they just parked it up and bought another. When we moved in to our house they told me it was scrap and I could have it if I wanted. A can of easy start and a jump pack and it ran without an issue and cut my grass all season. I could also use the westwood to move my 750kg woodchipper around as the chassis was plenty strong enough to mount a towball on.

The moral of the above, Westwoods (certainly the older ones) are bomb proof, briggs and stratton engine, proper steel for the chassis and simple electrics.

The Hayter I only bought as it was a steal from a friend who no longer needs it. 4 years old, never seen any rain and half the price of the last few I have seen on ebay. It's certainly a lot more plasticky than the westwood but it's also quieter and has a tighter turn. Only time will tell if I did the right thing. 2005 110 TD5 XS running Alive Stage 1 and a bit and other toys

My old man has a westwood TS1600H (I need to confirm the model number later) that he wants to sell as he has treated himself to a stiga 4wd thingy that he can also do rough stuff with and leave it mulched.

I've used the Westwood for years and it's a great piece of kit, has been in the family since new and is maybe 6-7 years old?
Again will check.
It has the 3 blade deck and a powered collector (sweeper and roller)

If any use PM me and i'll put you in contact.

S1400 with a sweep collector will provide lovely striped lawns - used one on 3 acres at our old place. Definitely a lawnmower rather than a paddock mower and very good at it.

stanstorey, thanks ever so much for the offer.

I have done a little more research today and I think a mower with a mulching deck would be more useful for me, but if I cannot find one what sort of money are you looking for?

Cheers, David.

DieselHead, thanks for the reply.

If I could get a mower in the next 3-4 weeks that would be ideal.

the Toro/Wheel Horse sounds very interesting as they seem to have mulching decks, so please keep me posted on what its like and what you customer wants for it.

Many thanks, David.
