Scotland 1994 Defender 90 300 Tdi CSW Keswick Green
Looking for a great wild camping area in exmoor
Hello all,

Im doing the LEJOG run on the 27th but im heading down a couple of days early. Looking to spend 1 night at exmoor sleeping in the roof tent. Does anyone know of an area there with a good views? First time in south england Very Happy

Dunkery Beacon, I believe has good views. Thumbs Up
Areas near the river Barle are also lovely.
Also if your down there you might want to drop by Devon 4x4, it's a stones throw from South Molton, just below Exmoor. Wink
The Doone valley is also worth a trip though, especially the two fords to cross if you choose to.
Beware the one next to Robbers bridge has a little bit of a steep drop in and out but a Def has no trouble with it.

You can also ford the river at Tarr steps too, water level would be low I'd imagine at the moment.

Enjoy I'll be heading down there in a few weeks too. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up
It's one of my favourite places.

Thanks guys,

Im planning on getting the front prop shaft changed at D4x4 as i dont have time to source a spare up here. hopefully i get down there without any issues.

Thanks for the suggestions and i'll certainly look into it!
