Charcoal's Defender 110 station wagon V8
So after being on this forum for two years I thought it was about time I shared my Defender with you. I don't think I've posted many (if any) pictures of my Defender so without further ado, I introduce to you Mihaela, my 1995 Defender 110 station wagon V8.

This is how she looks as of starting this thread.

I thought that I'd make this a build thread as I have done several modifications since ownership began and have plans for plenty more when funds permit. Build threads are also undeniably more interesting! One day I hope to have her looking like a South African expedition Defender.

To do this build thread properly we have to go back to day one. Here is a picture from the day I bought her.

...And another from the following day...

I bought her from Kings Lynn which was a 500 mile round trip, despite that the registration plates show at some point it had gone through Keith Gott who are a 45 minute drive from here!

A few weeks after I bought her I finally got myself a set of five steel wheels with Michelin XZL tyres. Having owned an ex mod 110 before I was a bit bias towards this wheel and tyre combination.

I also got a genuine Defender bonnet mounting bracket for the spare wheel. To be fair this one wasn't influenced by owning an ex mod 110. As long as I can remember I always wanted a Land Rover with a spare wheel on the bonnet.

I also got a new grill and new headlight surrounds because the old ones looked pretty crap.

Next on the list was a CB radio, I had a trip to visit my mother in Wales coming up and bought one so we could do some green laning.

As you can see the inside was no SUV either, A few bits of trim needed replacing sooner rather than later. Scenes as they were rather cheap I sorted them all out shortly after sorting out the wheels.

First I replaced the trim between the steering wheel and door which had broken in half.

Then I sorted that dreadful hole in front of the gearstick...

Two heater controls were also missing handles which were sorted in the process. It's surprising how much of a difference a few pieces of trim make!

Here are a couples of pictures of the progress so far.

Now that's enough for tonight. In a future post I'll cover a more until this build thread is up to date.

Yes, a 90 H/T with windows put in the side on an E plate (1988) but she preferred to be a passenger and have a good look around and enjoy the scenery Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up. Keeper.

Thanks Greeni. The USW panels weren't around much longer after taking those pictures Whistle They did look good though but I just love the original station wagon look too much. Luckily I got the original panels from the previous owner Thumbs Up 1999 Land Rover Defender 110 td5 station wagon

Time for an update..

A month or two passed since my road trip to Wales and I felt it was time to add something. I had been thinking about buying a bull bar since I bought the Land Rover so that was my next modification. Most for sale were either in terrible condition or located at the other end of the country. I finally found a new one for sale on eBay that could also be posted.

The bull bar was designed to fit air conditioned vehicles so it sticks out quite far, it always bothers me but in the long run I will replace it with a Front Runner bull bar.. If I ever manage to get one imported..

After that I replaced the USW panels with the original CSW panels. They both look great in their own ways but I wanted it to look original. It is also a lot lighter inside now!

Also notice I replaced the Defender 110 decal as the old one was faded.

Yes a proper Land Rover although I have to say I never liked Bull Bars on them but each to their own.
