I was trying to look on Trailwise last night and found my account no longer worked, despite renewing my Glass membership last month... Rolling Eyes

I think the lane is called Sheepwash, and I also thought it was flagged as a one way (down hill..!) only, but could be wrong.

Do you have the Trailwise ID to hand, assuming I can get my access back, and I'll check it's the same one.

Cheers

Simon

Ok, got my access to Trailwise back and put some updated comments on the lane.

Most previous comments indicate the steps are tricky but doable., which I think is accurate. I wouldn't want to try and go up the steps, I think that would cause some damage to the track.

Cheers

Simon

PS: I should update the lanes on the rest of the route in Trailwise..! Trouble is, the route is 270miles... Shocked

We had a disco 3 along Parkamoor, it handled it admirably, totally different to the defenders in the group, and very very tight at the section just before the rocky steps up. 2015 RRS Autobiography SDV6

Yes Vincent, it was a brilliant 3 days. It was so good we're going back to the Lakes soon to try more of the excellent lanes in the area.

Cheers

Ah, I envy you... It is a pity there is such a large ditch between here and those beautiful lanes... Laughing Cheers, Vincent

Remember the length restriction on Gatescarth pass Thumbs Up

10. 4x4 vehicles with a wheelbase of over 100 inch are not permitted to drive Gatescarth Pass. This is because of the damage caused by larger 4 x 4s. Please read the Driver and rider guidance for more detailed information. You will be refused access on the permit day if your vehicle does not meet these requirements.

11. It is each permit holder's responsibility to prove and ensure that their vehicle falls within the wheelbase limits, that their vehicle is suitably equipped for the conditions to be encountered on the route, and that all persons listed on the permit know the Driver and rider guidance. Adventure isn't paved!

Coincidence...
I was just reading an old issue of LRO (July 2014), were Gatescrath Pass was mentioned. Cheers, Vincent

We're leading a few groups round the Yorkshire dales in a couple of weeks and will be going up the sheep wash. We've already offered those with shiny trucks to jump in with the rest of us, by the looks of those recent pictures it's a good job we have! Some photos from this track today. The approach is a bit washed out now but easily passable
