Rocker rover bolt tightening
I am sure in the dim and distant past I have seen a sequence for tightening up the bolts for the rocker cover?...
Can anyone confirm the sequence please?
I think torque is 9nm? 1999 Defender TD5 110

I didn't think there was a specific sequence, but going opposites would probably be the method? My torque wrench didn't go as low as 9Nm so I just 'nipped' them up. TD5 Defender 90

There is no sequence per se. Replace it and tighten bolts to 10Nm and use sealant as described in the shop manual (see below). Tighting the bolts gradually from side to side is a good idea...

Maybe I dreamt the sequence or did the same sequence as the head bolts?
Anyway s all done. Tightened in a similar order to above but might of started at one corner and gone zig-zag had tight and then back over and set 10Nm on the torque wrench.

Fingers crossed the leak stops....doubt it though

cheers all. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Good practice would be to do it zig zag style.

Same as tightening cylinder head bolts........

Makes sense to me. Smile

Cheers
