Newbie question!
Hy everyone,

I'm new to Defenders and to this blog.
I just purchased a 110 version and I'm sooo very happy!

Now I used to drool when looking at the Twisted Defenders.
I just realised that they have been lowered by an inch? Is this right?

If anyone knows, I'd like to know what they have done to their suspension to increase the handling.

Suspension: Make / Model? (shocks, springs, etc)
Anti roll bars: Make / Model?
Steering damper: Make / Model?
Wheel offset?

I appreciate your help!
Andre

Welcome amhobbs,

Twisted tailor your defender to your requirements as well as producing generic models.

It depends on which version you were looking at, some have standard ride height others are lowered.

Hope this helps initially before some of the other members respond.

Cheers
Michael

Hi and welcome to Defender ownership and Def2 Thumbs Up

With a 110 the rear is often lowered by 1" to get the vehicle to sit level. Various companies do 'kits' like Twisted, Alive Performace, Urban Truck, IRB or you can just buy the parts yourself.

I can't help with the specific item part numbers as it would depend on what you actually want to achieve i.e just visual 'sitting' of the vehicle or improved ride etc?

Hopefully someone else will help with specifics James

Thank you guys.

I'm trying to get better handling and get it to look like this one.
Thoughts?

Hello

You say your new to Defenders so probably had a normal car previously? (like me)

I have a 110 and to be honest its not too bad in std height once you get used to it, maybe live with it as it is for a little bit while you get used to it?

OK its no sports car but progress through the bends can be made (even more so without passengers)

If it helps, the wheels in that photo are Overfinch Apollo 18".

Twisted use tuned Eibach springs and anti roll bars, with Bilstein B6 Dampers and steering damper:

The standard Bilstein B6 shocks & dampers are far cheaper and supposedly very good without additional specific tuning.

I have gone for the twisted kit with -1" rear.

Also look at JE, they use standard front springs and then a -1" rear so another setup. Andy
