TD5 steering pump modification
Hello
Circled in RED I would like to remove this fitting and bolt on a fitting that would allow me to use a threaded connection on the low suction on this TD5 steering pump what could I use???????

I DO NOT like jubilee clips on the hydraulic hoses and would like something more secure hence thinking about a threaded connection (this will be fitted to an extreme off road landrover)

Cheers Bow down Bow down Bow down Bow down

Cant see what the issue is with a jubilee type clip on a suction line. If you are particually adverse to that type of fitting i would advise you get a piece made up with a threaded JIC type fitting attached. I wouldnt tap and thread the housing to fit a fitting as the reduced bore size will no doubt cause pressure drop and possibly cavitation. 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread

Jubilee clips are fine as long as you use the good ones, where the clamp is recessed into the screw part, so it's perfectly round.

thanks for the reply's

as I said its going on an offroad extreme landy, I had issues before on a previous pump where the hose came off in the middle of a section AND DUMPED ALL THE HYDRALIC FUILD, was hoping to fabricated a fixed threaded connection

will once again try the good quality hose clamp........................................cheers
