Coleman instant 5. Nice and roomy, easy to put up, and friends with them rate them highly.

+1 for self inflating roll mats.
I have several from cheap Halfords jobs to Aldi specials and my Favourite which is a Gelert Extreme Lite. miker is correct the Coleman instant Dome 5 is magic. It really can be put up in a minute a bit longer if you need to put the guys up if windy. We have had Kyham quick erection (ooh err missis) tents in the past and they are very good.
They go up really quickly and importantly the inner tent stays dry if you have to put it up in the rain due to how the tent is set up. http://www.khyam.co.uk/shop/flexi-dome-quick-erect/igloo/ Current tent is a lightweight Jack Wolfskin, not as easy to put up as the Kyham but much smaller and lighter , primarily bought for use with motorbike where packed size and weight are more of an issue. Edit : it was a rigidome we had, called a Vis a Vis but can't see it on current website.. |

We used some cheap ground tents from argos last year in the alps - can't remember exactly what they are but having an inner liner is definitely worth having. Keeps you and all your stuff away from the normally damp outer tent.
On the subject of airbeds... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Intex-Deluxe-Pill...ing+airbed People will take the mick, they'll laugh at you when there's a whirring sound from inside your tent every night and morning when it self inflates and self deflates, but you'll be really comfortable!! I've never found a sleeping bag I fit in comfortably either so it solves that comfort issue too by using more conventional sheets. The pump also sucks them flat aswell so they pack up much smaller than you'd expect. We bought two, didn't have any issues with them going down in the night compared to "normal" airbeds that I don't think I've ever had last more than a couple of nights. We didn't spend much more than £100 for tent and airbed last year and had a glamping'esque bed every night! We had a small inverter running off a split charge battery system that worked perfectly (alternatively leave the engine running for a few minutes while you blow them up and buy a cheap halfords inverter). Just put a towel down underneath it if you're on nasty stony ground. I do have to say we've upgraded to two roof tents this year though - packing a grubby ground tent up every morning if you're moving every day becomes tiring very quickly. |
