Clayton - I didn't no, although I do plan to fit one at some point. But for now it's definitely a big improvement over the original sealed units and only cost ~£30

Bit of tinkering this weekend. Replaced the old interior light with an LED one and gave it a 12v permanent live. The light has a switch on the side so it can now be turned on from anywhere without having to be in the driver's seat fumbling around for that switch in the lower dash - perfect for getting stuff in and out of the back in the dark.
 Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge I bought a second hand military HD bumper from Blanchards yesterday so I spent a while prepping and painting that. First had to sand back the many layers of flaky paint, then 2 coats of red oxide primer then 2 coats of black on top to finish. Need to buy a pin for it as the military pin is extortionately expensive for what it is, I'll just buy a standard tractor hitch pin off ebay. Yes, they're reinforced in the middle and are a lot heavier than standard bumpers. Darren

The pin for my bumper arrived today off ebay, its the right diameter but I couldn't find one the right length so bought it with the intention of cutting it down as LRA did in his thread. I knew the steering guard is a bit in the way but I figured I would be able to fumble around behind the guard to fit the lynch pin.
However, the guard actually protrudes over the pin hole slightly to stop the pin dropping in: Click image to enlarge Looking down from above the bumper, the red box shows the part of the guard protruding over the hole and stopping the pin dropping in: Click image to enlarge I have a few options: 1. Cut the following chunk out of the guard (less preferable): Click image to enlarge 2. File off the part of the guard in the way. The protruding bit of guard is only about 1/2 thickness of the plate so would have plenty of meat left on and would be invisible from the front. The part of the guard above the red line is vertical and the guard angles off below that line. This should give me enough space between the bumper and the angle of the guard to drop the pin in and fit the lynch pin: Click image to enlarge I think I'll try step 2 first, the guard is aluminium so no problems with corrosion to worry about. I'd prefer not to cut a chunk out of the guard for aesthetics and given I wont be using the pin often, I won't mind having to fiddle about behind the guard so as long as I can make it drop in I'd be happy. The only other option would be moving the guard and/or bumper forward or backwards but this doesn't seem a very viable option because of the modification to chassis/bumper mountings this would require. Bit annoying but I probably should've foreseen this. Anyone else fitted a mil bumper with a steering guard and had this problem with fitting the pin? PS: This probably doesn't make much sense but it's really difficult to describe the problem, hopefully the pictures help a bit Matt.

Best bet would be to loosen the bumper bolts and slide forward as much as possible and then loosen the steering guard bolts and move that back as far as possible. There may be enough tolerance to make it clear

Just looking at the pictures again, does the guard nearly completely cover the hole or only just cover the hole? 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

It's only just covering the hole so your suggestion could well work, plenty of slack in bumper bolts but I think the steering guard is a more snug fit.

Well your suggestion did work! Managed to get enough movement to just squeeze the pin in, it's quite tight which is good so it won't rattle. The lynch pin does fit on but its a bit fiddly behind the guard and I've threaded the chain through a hole in the steering guard but it looks a bit messy so I might just take the chain off altogether, it's not really needed.
