My 07 110 works vechicle.
Hi,
As its my first post , I'd thought I'd put up some pics of the defender tdci I get to drive and work out of everyday, unfortunately it's not mine but a company vechicle so not modding it for me, It spends most of it's time pulling various trailers carrying equipment such as excavator buckets, water pumps and fuel bowsers for the flood defence work we carry out.
I had it since new and tried to look after it- even giving it the odd polish now and then. Luckily the servicing is done by a local garage who are keen on defenders so it's well looked after for a company vechicle.
It came specced with heavy duty suspension along with a Roger Young side access conversion and lower side storage compartments.I also believe they fitted the brown church roof rack, beacons, spotlights, chevrons, rear electric hook up and adjustable tow bar. Inside has air con and electric windows, with the rear given over to shelves and racking along with hand wash and kettle and security grills.
Unfortunately it's due to be replaced with a Isuzu dmax next year so I can see myself having to get my own defender to take over from this one.

Welcome aboard! There are worse company cars Thumbs Up

Unfortunately, a whole heap of working trucks will be replace with pickups, especially now Isuzu, Nissan, Toyota and VW are all going 3500kg tow weight Neutral

Whereabouts in gods own country are you? He who dies with the most toys...wins!

Thanks, I'm on the Wrexham/Chester border.

All these "other 4x4" towing 3500 are fine , but they only have a train weight of 6ton, compared to the defenders 7ton. So they are always going to be a poor replacement if you want to carry and tow a large amount - something which I do a lot of.

Cheers
Leigh

Very nice, environment agency. Company I work for have many similar vehicles also from Roger Young, but usually on 265/75R16s on modular rims, and with a big winch up front.

Likewise the D-max, Ranger etc are coming on stream, but the lower overall train weight does not seem to have been noticed. Rolling Eyes 2011 110 USW

Unfortunately it's looks as if your right Sad , one of the alternatives we have currently is the L200 however despite light towing duties it needed a new clutch at 55000miles Rolling Eyes

Thanks, yes it was Environment Agency Wales now Natural Resources Wales since a couple of years back when Welsh assembly took charge of us. Some of ours came with fatter wheels/ winches and chequer plate on wings and bonnet.

Plus it's all very well accepting the lower train weight however having that extra ton in reserve makes a massive difference as we know Wink

Mine was an environment agency vehicle up until I bought it a couple of years ago.

Thanks, liking yours and it's resto thread.

To be fair I've found that E.A maintain them pretty well mechanically, normally they are kept for around 10years though that may reduce in the future. Condition of the body offtens depends on the driver it's assign to, and like most places some people are good others no so.

Thanks Very Happy

I agree they are very well looked after. I think the only reason they got rid of my one was the large holes in the cross member and the bulkhead.

Can you not persuade them to get a 15 plate defender converted and keep your 07 as a private vehicle instead? Whistle Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

Thanks both, will look at 200/ 300 90's nearer the time it's due to go most probably around May next year. Done a couple of other projects over the years (see below)and quite fancy doing something on a landy now.
First one is this - the black one in the photo, plus it's got a bit of landrover dna in it as it fitted with a 3.9 v8 out of a discovery Thumbs Up

The other project has been this , a bit marmite but having owned it for 25odd years it's not going anywhere.

Shocked Bet that shifted.

200Tdi and 300Tdi Defenders are the best (I might be bias so beware Whistle)

Out of interest how does the process work for work vehicles?

I imagine you get a date, drive it to a depot, they park it in a line ready for auction do some paperwork and then you get new keys to a new truck? Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197

Yes it pretty nippy Cool
Normally we keep our existing vans/ Plant etc until the new vechicle is delivered to us, then the auction house makes arrangements to collect Big Cry and take to their site.
Currently all e.a and n.r.w vechicles go to brightwells, there was a handful of 110's similar to mine going through last week according to their online 4x4 catalogue. And looking at the results page, the last 110s with similar spec were making around the 7- 8.5k mark.

Thought I'd post a few more pics, this is its usual environment fetching and carrying - on board is a couple of attachments to go on the excavator to enable us to remove blockages from a river. Just gone over 80k and due a service before long where I suspect it will have the usual rear shock absorbers bushes replaced .
