1998 Land Rover Defender Wolf XD90 (HD)
Maybe not a bargain, but interesting:

Registration R246 LVE
Chassis Number SALLDAA67WA138715
Engine Number tba
Estimate £18,000 - £24,000

http://www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions....aspx?p=15

going to auction on 12th March 2016.

Some interesting detail in the description:

"the chassis on this HD (Heavy Duty) is said to be eight times stronger than standard"

"prop-shaft protection between chassis and hub"

"sealed headlights with breather pipes to top of windscreen" - any have more details on this?

"113bhp, 300TDi engine" - did none of them get the 120bhp version?

That's a very tidy looking Wolf and been well maintained according to the description.

Well there are a few bits wrong with the description for example "80l fuel tank" as this is a TUL it is only fitted with a 55l tank, as for propshaft protection to the hub?? That I have no clue about. The vehicle its self has now been modified outside of a military spec so people wanting a real Wolf would need to remove/refit certain bits, for example the rear tub Jerry can stowage is missing on the left and incorrect on the right, the fire extinguisher is mounted in the wrong place also.

I could go over the vehicle and pick up many things wrong but the owner has made the 90 how he wants and I can't say that is wrong, I doubt it will meet the 24k mark though. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

I'm pretty sure that was on eBay last autumn. Tidy but the white bits don't do it for me.

Morning All

I am the proud new owner of R246 LVE and thought I'd pop in and say hello.

I have been after a Wolf for awhile now and this opportunity was too good to miss out on. The condition can only be described as immaculate and the previous owner has invested a lot of money and care into making this a fantastic example. It's been upgraded and tweaked for civilian life and is a pleasure to drive. That said its not perfect and in time I plan to make my own modifications to the Wolf including a possible colour change and the removal of the limestone bits. I have to compliment the previous owner on his paint choice however - it stands out and gets noticed. My 5 year old nephew loves it especially when I pick go up from school.

This is my first Defender in nearly 6 years. I have been lucky and owned a 50th Anniversary Defender GB126, a NAS replica and a 101. I'm looking forward to getting back into the folds of the Land Rover community.
