Current draw from alarms and other electrical items
Just wondered what sort of current accessories fitted to defenders are drawing without the ignition on. For example my alarm and flashing warning lights are pulling between 20 and 35 ma depending on what's flashing and if you trip the movement sensor.

Most are around the 30 - 45mA region I would have thought.

I once had an issue with a wrongly wired relay. (Dealer sold it like that!)

The issue was the coil in the relay was permanently live, it shouldn't have been and was drawing about 200mA at rest.
That was enough to cause starting problems / starting failiure after about 2 days of not being used I think.

H/U's also tend to draw a small current at rest but normally 2mA - 20mA I would estimate.

If I remember rightly - Battery Life = Battery Capacity in Milli amps per hour / Load Current in Mill amps * 0.70

75 amp per hour battery with a 45ma load should dissipate in around 1100 hours if this was the only load.

75 amps = 75000 / 45 x .7

Around 45 days dependent on temperature and loadings Cheers Simon
