Forgot ACF 50 seems to attract and kill midges - they flock to freshly sprayed door hinges and cross members!

I do get bitten a fair bit in the south of England so it might be bad for me. Some good suggestions on Avon stuff which seems to have been used by the Army too!

Possibly worse near any water? 1951 80" S1 2.0

Wondered when someone would get round to the ticks and the horrors of Lyme Disease. Go on holiday and come back with a permanent reminder of your trip. Worth noting that you can also catch it in England and Wales.

www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Lyme-disease/Pages/Introduction.aspx

Having tried to spend the night at the Silver Sands of Morar (near Mallaig) we were literally being eaten alive by the midgies and forced to retreat to a B&B in Mallaig. That mystical looking beach with its blue water and silver sands looked fantastic in the movie 'Local Hero' but as dusk approached the midgies wanted to suck our blood - and they swarmed in by the million.
