2010 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 HT Stornoway Grey

No drive, handbrake wont hold?

Friend just called me up to see if i had any idea on what it could be?

wont drive, handbrake wont hold? I'm guessing a prop maybe?

its a late 110 td5

hasn't tried dif lock yet.

I expect he would have known all about it had the prop let go

Rear shaft, diff or drive member. My dosh is on the drive member.

it was while pulling away, loud bang from beneath, nobody has had a look under it yet

Something bust in the rear drive.

As mentioned use the diff lock and I bet you get drive and a working handbrake. Although I would be looking to remove shafts etc once proven 2014 - current ..... 2003 defender td5 90 (my car)
