Yup classic CV joint noise

likely CV joint. Before dismantling it might be worth checking the endfloat/shimming of the splines into the driveflange. If there is a lot of endfloat here it can cause the CV joint to locate too far inwards and bind up on lock.

I did think CV..

Sorry my description wasn't great! The shim is between the circlip and driveflange on the outside (under the rubber cap if you have original style flanges). 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread
