Clutch pedal
Hi all,
if its not one thing its another!
Now its the clutch pedal not returning properly, I thought it felt funny for a day or two, prior to this its usually quite strong to press down but now feels much easier and sometimes doesn't return back up as it should.

any ideas guys please?

Dave

slave and or master cylinder leaking or seal braking down color of clutch fluid black or discolor indicates seal failure or fluid contamination water and so on (clutch and brake fluid is hygroscopic)

if ever slave or master has failed, good practise to changed both as if one has failed the other one will to sooner or later

Also check your return spring it might have broken or slipped off. Item 10 in pic (if it is an older model year)

Probably the master cylinder, but as others have said, change the slave at the same time.

Use good quality replacement cylinders, those that come in a blue box may not last very long!.

Another thing it could be though I would say if the fluid level hasn't dropped it would be a good second thing it could be is the clutch release fork starting to go.

That said they usually go and go terminally- best get your master and slave seals checked first! Running Restoration Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/post323197.html#323197
