That front grille was (if memory serves me right) introduced for the 1951 model year (1610... models) so it is not impossible that an 0620 vehicle had it fitted from new. It might also be a contemporary upgrade since the illumination from the behind-the-grille lights is specatcularly poor.
Are you referring the to the bonnet wheel carrier? If so, again it could have been fitted at any time. I reckon that is a very nice little vehicle! I don't know what it'll make, but I wouldn't be surprised in the current climate to see it make its estimate. It'll be interesting to see. |

I'd quite fancy Lot 317. One of the first 150 built with both front winch and rear drive for a belt

Yes, very nice, I'd have that in a flash!
The restoration though is rather let down by the door hinges, and I find it hard to understand why they are as they are. As far as I know, 80" vehicles left the factory with the horizontal edge of the hinge at the top on the top hinge and the bottom of the bottom, so that the row of bolts passed through the edge of the internal reinforcing section. On the later vehicles (86"/88" and 107"/109"), the reinforcing section was deeper vertically so the hinges were transposed, even though the same hingers were used. There may have been some exceptions on the very, very early models, and I'd have to do some research to be sure. However, the situation seen on HDG600, where the nearside door has the hinges "86-style" and the offside door has both hinges straight edge uppermost, must surely be a mistake! |

It's pretty spot on! 5 Chassis numbers from the change over to 7" headlights the lack of Spare wheel cover looks wrong but correct nevertheless Working towards Carry on camping! |

Silverstone Auctions are currently packing up after an auction at Stoneleigh this weekend. Spotted a 109 CW in the marquee this morning and some other mint motors too.
