Hello, Guy! You may not remember but you offered me help a couple of times on Blatchat in 2007 (freelander 2 drive) and 2010 (D3 problems) though I didn't take advantage of either offer! My 7 went in 2007 (to pay for the plumber...) and am just looking into getting a defender now myself. I do remember your posts on Blatchat about the oNe that got pinched!

Hi Tim - You were looking for a new company car, and Freelander was on your list I think?

Shame you had to sell the 7 - I feel your pain. Just over a week since mine went...

Loving the Defender though! 2020 110 D200 Base - Pangea with satin paint protection

Aha - good memory! Selling the seven was a bit of a drag though we didn't have undercover parking for the first couple of years but if I had known about the drop in interest rates I would have kept it. That said, I did get to a point where the mileage each year was getting stupidly low and the summers have been so wet up here that the use would have been rather poor.

Not sure whether I will get a defender - don't have the budget for a nearly new one (which is what I would really like) and would be a bit daft for a third car to put that much cash in one. Corris is a very nice colour by the way - looks very nice!

Yes! Didn't buy enough cable for the first attempt, so had to wait until last weekend to wire them up. Really pleased with them - the bumper is so much thicker than the standard part, and really well made. DRLs are also really good.

I also bought a hot air gun to do the waterproof splices properly - hairdryer not hot enough and a lighter is too hot. £10.99 jobby from Screwfix is brilliant and will not doubt come in handy again.

I think a speaker upgrade and subwoofer next. Or wheels. Very Happy 2020 110 D200 Base - Pangea with satin paint protection

Bought the Alpine KTP-445A amp and some Alpine speakers for the rear which hopefully arrive today.

Need to decide on which new front speakers - Focal ISN100 seem the popular choice, but any other suggestions? 2020 110 D200 Base - Pangea with satin paint protection

Great update, nice to see the progression Thumbs Up

I'm still toying with the idea of putting black grille and light surrounds on my Orkney Grey 110. Wife not keen though and it is her car Sad

I've just fitted a sub-woofer (FOCAL IBUS 2.1 Active Subwoofer) in a box under the cubby, all done by Far Corners. I wanted to raise the cubby box to elbow height and install some additional usb power sockets for the kids in the rear. The Far Corners box ticked all the boxes so thought I might as well install the sub-woofer as well. They have ungraded the feed wire to the speakers, I just have to save up for the speakers upgrade now to get the full benefit! Really pleased with it though.

I'm no expert on speakers but Far Corners rave about the Focal ES 100 k and have them on special offer at the moment.

Just food for thought.

These are ultimately destined for the rear, but may start in the front until the front speakers are chosen Thumbs Up 2020 110 D200 Base - Pangea with satin paint protection

Speakers fitted in the rear and amplifier fitted.

Other posts suggest it can be fitted behind the storage tray in front of the passenger, but there was no room there in my car - ducts in the way. I used a couple of 3M Dual lock pads and fixed it on the inside side of the tray. Hopefully it will stay in place.

Sound is definitely better - even the standard front speakers sound more crisp, but I think a sub-woofer will have to be done when I sort the front speakers Smile 2020 110 D200 Base - Pangea with satin paint protection

If anyone fancies a bit of summer fun, my Caterham is now back on the market. I sold it to a dealer, and they've prepped it for sale. Whoever buys it will have a BIG smile Cool

Alpine front speakers and tweeters fitted. Used the standard tweeter grilles, but added the Alpine badges that came with the tweeters.

Already fitted the rear speakers and Alpine amp. Sounds much better, but subwoofer still needed to finish it off...
