They are a lovely pair 7heaven Would be ideal to keep them both. Look forward to seeing the 'updated' look with the black grille and surrounds. Are you going the full black pack look then, i.e. lettering and black wheels too? MY15 Aintree 110 SW - for sale - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic82781.html

You could almost argue Caterham was a good investment - factoring in the enjoyment you have surely had during the ownership. Something to emphasise to Mrs when getting a new one at some point
Sounds like you have it all well planned sir I think the dual finish do give it a nice contrast - plus they look stunning when clean - I always admire them after a wash. Keep the pictures coming... Thanks
Absolutely a great car to have built and owned. Did just over 33k miles in it, although in the last couple of years that has dropped right off - always seems to be other stuff to do. Picked up the black grille on the way home from work. Don't think I'll get a chance to fit before the weekend but will post up my progress 2020 110 D200 Base - Pangea with satin paint protection 2015 90 XS Station Wagon (sold) 2010 110 XS Station Wagon (stolen) |

It seems to be the way with 'basic' cars..... Morgan, caterham, defender, atom all seem to keep their values and you get a huge amount of fun from them. Why keep your money in the bank earning minimal interest!!

Hi 7heaven
Did you find the front DEFENDER lettering easy to remove/replace? Any tips? I'm thinking of doing the same............ |

Yes, letters themselves came off really easily with a bit of heat form her hairdryer. They leave behind most of the foam backing. Again, a bit of heat and a scrape and it comes off.
A word of warning - don't do what I did and use your thumb to rub the bits off Click image to enlarge Once I'd got most of it off, used some sticky stuff remover to get rid of the rest, and then a quick clay to clean it up. Then a rinse off, wipe down with an alcohol wipe and it was ready for the new badges. In order to make sure I got them level, I used a piece of plastic L section edging taped to the bottom of the bonnet - this gave me a nice level edge to align the cardboard badge template to. I also marked the centrepoint of the bonnet on the plastic. Click image to enlarge Confidence is key to sticking them on - they are not easy to re-position... 2020 110 D200 Base - Pangea with satin paint protection 2015 90 XS Station Wagon (sold) 2010 110 XS Station Wagon (stolen) |

It looks a good job! Did you buy LR replacement lettering or a set from Ebay? If the latter, is the quality OK (and please send me the link)?
