Difficult reverse, second and fourth gear
I have a 2.2, build some time in 2015.

I have never driven any other pumas so I don't know what's normal and what's not.
I drove a very nice TD5 for years and my old R380 was vastly superior in terms of gear change quality.

The problem is the gear shifter is very stiff. I have to force it in every direction. Not forcing any gears but the actual gear shifter itself. So for instance is stationary, clutch down, select second, in to neutral and select second again. (An operation which should be very smooth) and I have to use more force than comfortable.

It gets better when warm but not much. The gear selector action between 1-2-1 gets better but the shifter stick is still just as stiff.

Same with reverse then, have to push really hard to get it it.

1 3 5 are ok but R 2 4 are pretty bad. R is the worst, then 2 then 4 and 6 isn't too bad.

Is this normal on these or should I consult my local dealership?

An MT82 box in good working order should have a better action than an R380 in good working order (the R380 has always been second rate). There's something wrong, so invite the dealer to put it right.

Ok, so the M82 should be lighter and smoother than the R380?
Not the case in my case. My old R380 was smooth and light. This one is heavy and clunky.

Which is why I think there's something wrong with it!

I've not yet met an R380 which is as light, smooth, and precise as my Puma.
