Changing ECU
I currently have a 1999 TD5 with a 15P engine (swapped due to the old engine droppping it's timing chain).

I have changed to green-top injectors, and had them coded in. The guy that coded the injectors in for me, and Tazz from here, have both commented that the ideal would be to have a later model ECU. Thi would enable it to run in EU3 mode and allow easier updates and mapping in the future.

As I currently have an old, non-programmable ECU, what can I swap to? The guy that will do the coding for me has the proper diagnostics kit. Can I throw a disco2 in there without any issues?

Mike

Look for NNN000120, NNN5000020 or NNN500250 ECU, these are flashable ECUs for TD5 with manual gearbox. The rest is only uploading the right map in the ECU. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo Smile

Perfect, that's what my research had lead me to believe as well. Cheers!

There were also some 15P (EURO3) engines with MSB type ECUs, but I have never seen one myself. And software in NNN ECUs is a bit better. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo Smile
