Bulkhead
Looking at a 110 2008, Where on the bulkhead should I be looking?

Is it easily seen if rusty?

I always take a mot corrosion hammer and give areas a few taps

Doesn't do any damage but I would ask permission of the owner first if he insists you don't use it be careful as he may know more than he is letting on, also a good pair of gloves and a torch is great for checking the bulkhead, with gloves on gently prod with your finger suspect areas. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

Nope, but it's what one might look like in 2027-2030 by the rate of that ones decline.

Or likely sooner.

How do you stop it corroding up there? Has that come from the inside out or the outside in?

Some water can enter where anything is bolted on so windscreen hinges, door hinges etc. The only way to stop it is liberal amounts of cavity wax followed by more with a little more after that, then regular top ups.

When I did a bulkhead swap on Jas I had the bulkhead at every angle filling it up with cavity wax to ensure a good covering. 90 wolf - Jasmin http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic39408.html

Centre area rarely rusts due to oil leaks and it's not in the zone of mud and water splatter.

Door pillars and top as shown above are key areas. If you see slight rust marks in the paint coming through, it's a bad one. Walk away 2016 D4 HSE
