fuel filter click
Just pondering on how loud / obvious the click should be?

When I fitted fuel filter I could not hear a click....its not fallen off so I guess it's ok but when I come to fit next filter should there be an obvious click?

Good. It's supposed to (I think). At least that's how I've interpreted the pictogram on the side of the filter.

They don't 'click' as such [no obvious noise] .. you just 'feel' it sort of latch into position Smile Guns and Landrovers .... anything else is irrelevant.

Right... removed and refitted fuel filter?

Still not completely sure if it's 'clicked' into position correctly or not?

Anyhow when I removed the filter I gave the housing from below a good squirt with magic spray (wd40). Not sure if this was a good idea o not but doesn't seem to have done any harm?

Drive to work this morning was non de script but the drive was mechanically great... everything seemed just right Thumbs Up

I use a strap type filter wrench to loosen it as I find it awkward to get a good grip on the filter with the wheel in the way. I place a tray underneath to catch the diesel spillage. I fill the replacement filter with diesel then lie underneath and put it in place by lining up the two lugs and then twisting it by hand. Then I use the strap spanner to give it a final twist as I find it very difficult to get sufficient grip by hand. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel
