Well after all the moving, various work commitments and other things getting in the way I have finally made some progress

Ok so it's not a lot but it's a start and I can hopefully finish this stage off soon to give me a rolling chassis.

Front axle stripped, cleaned and now primed

So today I managed to get a little more done;

So first job was to get some black on the axle casing:

I also managed to clean up and primer one swivel housing:

Once the paint was drying and the other housing soaking in degreaser I moved on to see what axle parts I have left and what have been "liberated" for military service, it turns out I've lost a few bits so will need to get some orders in, I made a start on removing the old bearing races from the hubs.

The best part of the day was opening this magic box from YRM filled with many shinny and galvanised parts.

Lots of small victories this week, today I extracted one broke stud, cleaned and primered one housing and gave one housing a coat of black paint;

Now this weekend I am back home to participate in the parade marking 100 years since the Royal Guernsey Light Infantry departed bound for France, I will be with the Guernsey Military History Company and we shall be in full WW1 uniform, P14 webbing with rifles marching the full parade and doing our best to honour those men that gave so much

Great progress, it's all the details of painted swivel housings....that only people who've done these kind of jobs notice them!

I fully agree Greeni it's the small things that most will not even notice that set apart a good build, after all I can't be having rusty swivel housings when I have some stainless tracta seal retainers can I

MOT? What is this you speak of ? Maggie shall soon be registered in Guernsey, onto a number plate (no silly letters) in a lovely black and silver colour.
