Spoke to Jamie at A-plan, Having spoken to a number of different insurers who weren't even in the ball park (heritage, Nfu, Sureterm etc.) Flux came close as my previous insurers but having quoted me a price over £100 more than last year, I wanted to change provider.

A-plan beat them by a good margin, and the service over the phone was great.

She gave me an extremely competitive quote, which included all mods.

Was the expensive renewal their automated renewal quote?

Had this a few times and when compared with their own online quote for a new policy it was way off.

I've actually terminated my insurance at the end of one year with Direct line and reinsured with direct line again but online rather than auto renewing, their guy on the phone said he couldn't match their online quote !! Seriously WTF as i originally signed up with them online.

Guess the message is shop around and don't do the lazy auto renewal. Guess Aplan is worth a look when mines up next 3 Landrovers

The auto-renewal price was even more ridiculous......I beat them down!
