Painting a Galvanised Chassis
Just back from shopping, I noticed in the carpark a clean Series IIA. A nice example, neither bashed nor blinged, what I'd describe as “honest”.

A little on the high side - I'd guess due more to new or parabolic springs rather than a lift job - making the new galvanised chassis really noticeable. The rear cross-member ridiculously so.

An idle question then: to finish a galvanised chassis in black (paint, Hammerite, Waxoyl, Dinitrol, whatever…) or leave as is? A matter of taste or is there a technical reason that galvanised steel shouldn't be covered?

if you wont to paint new gav chassis t wash first and then etch primer and black chassis paint

When I put my 86" on a galv chassis I painted the rear crossmember and the front dumb-irons and number 2 crossmember (the bumper is the number 1 crossmember) only.

Etch primer to start with, then painted as usual, the paint has lasted quite well.
