Waterproof surface mount socket
Hi folks,

I'm hoping someone will have done or perhaps knows a little about roof tent electrics.

I'm looking for a two pin version of the pictured socket, or a similar two pin or even three pin, waterproof solution.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Kris

Go for the Buccaneer connection, The Royal National Lifeboat Institution use them on all their boats from the D class inshore to the lattest Shannon Class Off shore, We NEVER have an issue with them if used correctly. Only issues we get is people not doing up the collar then pulling the connector apart when using search lights or overtighting the dust and thus being a Censored to remove. Handy hint for the dust cover, Its castleated and there is a keyway for it in the Male socket so you put that over the top and turn lot simpler. We also pack outs with GP marine grease.

I was considering same solution for my roof tent. Ended up with cord extension from the cigarette lighter socket. Routing any place through a door (rubber gasket does not damage the cable nor cable do any wrong to closing a door) and through a gap on tent's hinge. Splitter in the tent and all my electrical stuff and lighting works perfect! Janusz

I bought that same connector for my spotlight roof bar. I think its too big and looks a bit pap. Am currently trying to source another sort with a 90Deg connection to keep it low profile. The best I could fins was these...

Thanks though

That's a kit including cables, relay etc to hook up lights. Just the connectors would be cheaper. It's probably a bit hard to find if you don't speak dutch, so here are the actual connectors themselves:

https://shop.landreiziger.nl/waterdichte-connector-kabel-bus.html (plug)
https://shop.landreiziger.nl/bus-met-kabel-4-polig-female.html (plug with 2m cable)
https://shop.landreiziger.nl/waterdichte-c...polig.html (same but at 90 deg)

https://shop.landreiziger.nl/waterdichte-c...ekker.html (socket)
https://shop.landreiziger.nl/waterdichte-c...basis.html (optional 90 degrees mounting piece)
https://shop.landreiziger.nl/waterdichte-c...hting.html (seal)

They are IP67 and max 16A.

You also might want to check the magcode system, which landreiziger has on offer too. Magcode pro can handle 25A. I guess it's not ment to remain connected inn all weather 24/7 but that's just a guess tbh.
https://shop.landreiziger.nl/catalogsearch/result/?q=Magcode

Hope this helps.

Greetings,

Joris
