Heated rear screen element repair kit ?
I have some parts of my rear heated screen elements broken. Are the repair kits available any good or is better to change the glass and be done with it. Your comments most welcome

Ive just changed mine for that very reason.
Tried the repair "paint" with limited success.
Paid £50 for a new window and £10 to have a friendly fitter swap it round.
Recommend paying the few £ extra for a genuine part.

Its scary how easy it is to push the window out!

I'd just go for new glass as mentioned above.

Halfords do such a kit to repair heated windows
Not cheap, and can be a bit hit and miss.

I did use it on my rear window, if it stops working again I will simply replace the glass next time. 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered.

The fixit kits I've seen look a bit rubbish IMHO, you paint it on or something like that, seems a bit Halfords 1982 to me!

Have you thought about buying a replacement rear glass?

Funnily enough I am removing my tinted heated rear window next week (fully working) and will have it for sale soon. 2016 D4 HSE

From an old thread...

Top two bars on mine weren't working either, bug bear was that because I've had mine tinted Land Rover were reluctant to swap it out under warranty. Had they agreed I would stll have had to pay to get it retinted. Couldn't be bothered to argue the to55 on this one! Halfords do a silver-based contact paint 'Granville' it's called comes in a tiny bottle with a masking template and a small sponge. £12 though! Sorted mine out and I affixed some transluscent 'sticky fixers' to the stoplight rubber to move it away from the heater element so it shouldn't reoccur.

Thumbs Up
