terminals on a britpart 9000c winch
Hi.
Sorry to ask such a simple question but which is the negative connection for a britpart 9000c winch. As you look at the two teminals it looks like it is the left side terminal that is negative ( lead runs to battery). My winch has two black cables running from the on/off switch so not sure. Just want to check

Thanks in advance.

Do you have any images of the motor? Usually there are three studs: F1, F2 and an earth. The earth is often on the underside of the motor. Tthe F1 and F2 are the winch-in and winch-out configurations.

Are you wiring it using the original solenoid box or albright solenoid?

Hi Mike

I have attached a couple of pics

This is the original winch nothing changed.

As you can see from the picture with the top view the positive in on the left and negative on the right. The second picture shows the cable from the switch to the terminals that cross over, hence why I have connected the cables as I have, Red Right and black left.

When I first went to connect the negative to the battery I got a load of big sparks, which made me wonder if I have the cables connected properly. Didn't want to change anything over until I was sure which way round they should be.

Or is it that I should have connected the negative first and then the positive.

THe winch cables are not connected to the battery now.

Thanks for your time for such a simple question
